Elias Kakish, M.D.

Core Faculty & Subspecialty Education Coordinator

I’ve had a passion to help people since I was a child – and I love the satisfaction that comes with diagnosing and treating the variety of lung and sleep disorders that detract from so many people’s quality of life. It’s important to me to invest time in explaining things to each patient. When I review lung images with someone, or show them the results of their sleep study, they can see what the problem is with their own eyes. This builds their confidence and trust in me as we work together on a treatment plan.

I perform a wide variety of pulmonology and critical care procedures, including those related to asthma, COPD, lung fibrosis and lung masses, and tumors. I am also highly experienced in sleep disorders, particularly sleep apnea – a very common and treatable problem.

In my free time, I love playing soccer and spending time with my family.
